Part optimization as the first working step
The production of windows and doors begins with the length production of the raw wood, the so-called trimming process. Mixed production of hardwoods and softwoods, domestic and exotic woods as well as scantlings (with and without insulating elements) place high demands on the tools used. Resistance and wear resistance of the cutting edges from mixed production has an impact on the potential life of the tools. It is particularly important to cut the workpiece on both sides, as pollution on the face sides has a negative effect on the subsequent machining steps.
The circular sawblade cuts the workpiece from below through the table support on under-table fast cross-cut sawing machines. The mechanical, partly very high feed requires a circular sawblade optimized for stability. The carbide quality used in the Leitz cross-cut sawblades ensures excellent tool life with consistent cutting quality.
The circular sawblade at the top of the workpiece is used with feed on mitre and crosscut sawblades. Low-noise tools for user-friendly working conditions and robust tool layouts are essential for a long tool life.
With under-table cross-cut saws, the wood is cut through from below through the table support. Here, vibration-damped circular sawblades achieve an optimum cutting result and long tool life by maximizing machine protection. Low-noise tools also provide greater user comfort.
Planing and profiling
The four-sided planing of the scantlings is the basis for high-quality and functional window or door elements. The demands placed on these working steps are very high. Dimensions must be observed, and the later visible surfaces of the component must be planed perfectly on the interior and exterior sides.
This optimum machining concept allows the change from planing the scantlings to profiling strip profiles at the touch of a button, without the need for time-consuming tool changes on the machine.
In addition to friezes for window and sash frames, modern window and door construction also require a large number of strip profiles, such as glazing beads as well as cleats, mounting strips, cover strips and filling bars. As these are mostly seen by the end-user, the quality requirements are very high.
